The Cluster Meeting & Events Sales Manager is responsible for and manages all aspects of both the
Fairways Hotel and Gateway Hotels meeting and events sales departments.
The role will support the General Manager and Director of Sales in maximising the meeting and events revenue of each Hotel by directing the sales activities in accordance with the Meeting & Events business plan.
The candidate should be driven, proactive, analysing, and results orientated in every respect. All work will be in line with the hotel's guidelines, its business plan and the Meeting and Events Sales strategy.
MANAGING THE TWO HOTEL'S MEETING & EVENTS SALES FUNCTION
· In conjunction with the hotel General Managers and Director of Sales achieves the meeting and
events sales budget for the financial year for each hotel
· To actively manage the meeting & events sales team and office function which is located in the
Gateway Hotel
· Responsible for generating leads through proactive telesales & monthly sales calls to achieve
meeting & events revenue budget
· Support the Director of Sales in securing new business for both Hotels by securing events such as
Conferences, Banquets, Concerts, Sporting Functions, Charity events, Company Events etc.
· To support the Director of Sales to identify and contract new meeting and event business
· Develop local business client relationships to ensure that both hotels are well represented
· Updating and maintain the Hotels “Mindaclient” to its full potential which is mandatory for the role
· Conducts best in class site inspections and strive for 90%+ for the meeting and events sales
department mystery guest audits
· As and when needed and in conjunction with the Director of Sales and the Group Sales
team at trade shows, workshops, sales blitz’s and consumer events
· To increases sales volume profitability by formulating and executing projects for all meeting and
events market areas as stated in the business plan
· Ensures compliance with specifications of meeting and event details by working closely with hotel
operations
· Supports operations with large meetings or events and other VIP clients
· Carries out frequent inspections of meeting and events facilities and ensure that they are setup in
line with company standards
· Ensuring the meeting and events sales office conducts follow up calls to obtain feedback from past
bookers/events on a weekly basis
· Manage all aspects of the function diary and daily amendments to function sheets
Compiling and updating relevant reports for meeting and events on a weekly basis ·
Attend weekly operations meeting in each hotel ·
Assist each General Manager in producing weekly and monthly meeting and events revenue forecasts ·
Ensures that all charges of meetings and events are completed in line with departmental procedures and prior to guest departure ·
To carry out any additional duties requested by the General Managers which will support the departments and hotels business goals
MARKETING ·
Marketing Activity plan to be developed for meeting and events and reviewed quarterly with General Manager and the Group Support Marketing Manager ·
Advertising to be designed in accordance with the Group Support office and Fairways and Gateway brand standards
REQUIREMENTS
3 years’ experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of the Irish MICE & Corporate market
Up to date with the latest trends in the hospitality industry
