About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Deputy General Manager to support the General Manager in the effective running of all hotel operations. This is a full-time, senior leadership role requiring strong operational expertise, excellent people management skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest service.

You will play a key part in driving operational standards, enhancing the guest experience, developing department leaders, and contributing to the continued commercial success of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily hotel operations across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Conference & Events, and Front Office.
  • Support department managers to achieve operational excellence and deliver consistent, high-quality service.
  • Lead, mentor, and train teams to uphold the hotel’s culture and service standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and revenue management.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing service improvement plans.
  • Act as Duty Manager, representing hotel leadership and making key operational decisions.
  • Support the General Manager with strategic planning and overall business performance.

A Day in the Life

As Deputy General Manager, no two days are the same. You may begin your morning by connecting with Heads of Department to review occupancy, events, and priorities for the day. Later, you might support the Front Office team during peak check-in times, walk through the hotel to ensure service standards are being met, or assist with a major conference or corporate event.

Your afternoon could involve coaching a manager, reviewing budgets, or meeting with the General Manager to plan upcoming business activities. Throughout the day, you’ll engage with guests and colleagues—ensuring every interaction reflects the warm hospitality the Tullamore Court Hotel is known for.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Senior Hotel Manager or in an equivalent senior operational role within a 4-star or similar high-volume property.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Excellent operational knowledge across key hotel departments.
  • A passion for guest experience, service excellence, and team culture.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working within a hotel group.
  • Experience with revenue management or large-scale F&B operations.
  • Additional qualifications in hospitality management or leadership.
