About the Role

As Executive Head Chef, you will lead all aspects of the kitchen operation, ensuring consistently high food quality while developing your team, driving innovation, maintaining profitability, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You'll work closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team to continually evolve our food offering while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, food safety, and operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing kitchen brigade.
  • Creating seasonal and innovative menus across multiple food outlets.
  • Delivering exceptional food quality and presentation.
  • Managing food cost, GP, stock control, and kitchen budgets.
  • Driving consistency, efficiency, and service excellence.
  • Overseeing HACCP compliance and food safety standards.
  • Planning and executing weddings, conferences, banquets, and special events.
  • Recruiting, training, and developing future culinary talent.
  • Building a positive, collaborative, and high-performance kitchen culture.
  • Working alongside senior management to achieve business objectives.

A Day in the Life

No two days are the same.

One morning you may be working with your team to develop exciting new seasonal dishes, while the afternoon could see you coordinating a large wedding banquet or mentoring an upcoming Sous Chef.

You'll spend time coaching your team on standards, monitoring service, analysing kitchen performance, meeting suppliers, reviewing menus, and ensuring every guest receives an exceptional dining experience.

Most importantly, you'll create an environment where people enjoy coming to work, develop professionally, and deliver their very best every day.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Executive Head Chef in a quality hotel or high-volume hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Passion for developing and mentoring teams.
  • Experience managing kitchen financial performance and food costs.
  • Excellent knowledge of HACCP and food safety legislation.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining exceptional standards.
  • Creativity, innovation, and passion for food.

Desirable

  • Experience in hotel operations including weddings, conferences, and banqueting.
  • Menu development experience.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Experience leading change and continuous improvement initiatives.
